NDG was contracted by prominent real estate development company, Greystar, to redesign the communal lounge area in this residential building in Westchester, NY. The space was to be accessible to all residents and modular enough to be used for a variety of purposes, with an emphasis on comfortable, design-oriented furniture and finishes, as well as a sophisticated lighting plan.
Communal Space
We designed this communal lounge area to have the look and feel of an open plan living room that may mimic the interiors of residents’ own units. We integrated kid-friendly elements, such as an air hockey table and a wall-mounted scrabble board into the furniture plan that mesh fluidly with the upscale design, as well as updated the shared kitchen area.
Cozy Corner
We wanted to activate all of the available space, so turned this niche area into a cozy den replete with a luxurious sectional sofa, a sizable TV, and dimmable lighting.
