Napach Design Group worked closely with the design architects Sage and Coombs to gut renovate this magnificent brownstone in Manhattan’s Chelsea neighborhood.
Re-Organization of Space
NDG assisted with the layout and design, which allowed for separate living spaces for the owners and their young adult children. New structural openings were made throughout the brownstone so that light could filter down through all of the spaces. We also helped with the selection of fixtures and finishes, such as the bold floral carpet and high-end light fixtures. All new HVAC, electrical, and sprinkler systems were added to this home and a new green roof was installed.
Architectural Through-Line
One of the key features of this design was the new location of the unique curvilinear staircase, which became the focal architectural element that effortlessly links all levels. We helped situate the beautiful, gently sloping staircase in front of the back windows to allow for light to enter every floor of the building.
